Commitment to Sustainability and ESG Principles
This has enabled BAT to meet the requirements of international reporting systems such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the Sustainable Accounting Standards Board (SASB), and the World Economic Forum (WEF).
UZBAT is actively advancing toward sustainable development, as evidenced by a series of significant achievements. More than two years ago, in collaboration with UZBAT, the certification process with the Ministry of Energy was initiated. As a result, UZBEKGIDROENERGO was certified according to the international I-REC standard. In 2024, UZBAT became the first company in Uzbekistan to acquire I-REC green energy certificates, confirming that all purchased electricity comes from renewable sources, ensuring zero CO₂ emissions from electricity consumption.
Thanks to this initiative, the company has reduced CO₂ emissions under Scope 2 to zero and halved total emissions compared to 2020.
Moreover, this milestone has helped BAT meet the international reporting requirements of key sustainability frameworks such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), and the World Economic Forum (WEF).
