Commitment to Sustainability and ESG Principles
UZBAT is making significant strides in sustainable development, evidenced by several key achievements. In 2024, the company obtained IREC certification, confirming that all purchased electricity is sourced from renewable energy, resulting in zero CO2 emissions from electricity consumption. This initiative, launched over a year ago in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and UzbekGidroEnergo, demonstrates UZBAT's commitment to reducing its carbon footprint.
Additionally, UZBAT is proud of its Zero Waste to Landfill status. Since 2022, the Samarkand factory has eliminated landfill waste by processing materials through pyrolysis, a method that minimizes CO2 emissions and creates eco-friendly fuel for greenhouses. In 2023, the Urgut plant achieved this status, followed by the Tashkent office in 2024. Now, UZBAT operates with a full Zero Waste to Landfill commitment.
Since 2022, the company has also implemented the international Alliance for Water Stewardship standard, ensuring responsible water resource management. This certification requires UZBAT to meet specific commitments, which are annually verified through inspection audits.
Through these initiatives, UZBAT demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainable development, contributing to environmental conservation and the responsible use of natural resources.
